Figure Rise Standard Kamen Rider Ex-Aid: Level Up!

Back from hiatus, and reviewing figures again, today I'm going over my first ever model kit, Figure Rise Standard Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Action Gamer Level 2!

Aesthetics:

This figure is practically a perfect version of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, particularly at this price point, although it is a model kit, which isn't for everyone. The details are spot on, although most of which are stickered (a lot of them I have repainted for better durability and looks compared to stickers). The figure is molded in Pink, lime, black, silver, clear and some neon green for the Gamer Driver, which itself is probably the most lacking in details. The stickers for unpaintable details are very precise and accurate, something that is impressive at this scale. The molded details are spot on, which is something that is definitely a positive.

Articulation:

The articulation on this guy is superb, surpassing most standard 1/12 scale lines by quite a bit while not greatly interfering with the aesthetics.. Here's a quick go through all of his articulation:
  • Dumbbell-joint for neck
  • Butterfly joints at the arms
  • Over 90' of upwards arm movement
  • Arms can turn a full 360'
  • Bicep swivel
  • Over 90' single elbow joint
  • Ball-jointed wrists
  • Ball-joint mid-torso
  • Ball-joint at the waist
  • Legs move just under 90' out
  • Legs go 90' out and about 45' back
  • Drop down hips for wider range of movement
  • Thigh swivel
  • Double-jointed knees can nearly let him kick his butt
  • Ankles move backwards, forwards and side-to-side

Accessories and Features:

The amount of accessories with Ex-Aid is great, with 6 hands (two open, two fists, one open posing hand, one weapon-holding hand), Ex-Aid's signature weapon the Gashacon Breaker (with interchangeable closed and open parts) and a stand for poses that require assistance.

Most of the features in this figure come from the articulation and the Ex-Aid's Rider belt, the Gamer Driver. the Mighty Action X Gashat that is inserted into the Driver can be removed and placed into the Kimewaza slot holder on his hip for a "Mighty Critical Strike" or into the slot on his weapon for the "Mighty Critical Finish". The gashat itself is a plain pink molded piece with a sticker showing off the label.

Comparisons:

Ex-Aid's height is about the norm for a 1/12 line, standing at about 6.5" (or 16.5 cm) to the tip of his "hair". As previously mentioned his articulation surpasses most of the currently available mass-release action figures.

First we have him with some other current 1/12 lines, being Hasbro's Marvel Legends Gamerverse Captain America and Jazwares' Fortnite Legendary Series (you were taken too soon :[ ) Jonesy:

Here he is with some current robot toys being Earthrise Optimus Prime (previously reviewed) and the High Grade Gundam RX-78-2 model kit by Bandai:

And finally here he is with some fellow Kamen Rider figures, those being FRS Kamen Rider Build and So-Do Kamen Rider Saber:

Final Verdict:

As a huge Ex-Aid fan, this might be a bit biased, but this is one of the best action figures I own, and probably one of the best figures of him period, certainly on a budget. The figure is packed full of articulation, detail and accessories making it a must have for any Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, general Kamen Rider or action figure and model kit fan in general!

Score: 9/10
